The Laredo Philharmonic commemorates 45 years of service to the Laredo community with their Adopt a Musician campaign.  This campaign is currently underway and will allow orchestral players to be “adopted” by patrons.

Our 45th Season, entitled “Musical Splendor,” comprises four performances, each showcasing some of the most beautiful music ever written. We begin our season with Celebration!, featuring music of a celebratory nature, announcing the start of our 45th year. Our second performance, “Sounds of the Season,” kicks off the holiday season with all of your yuletide favorites. The following concert, “Classical Gems,” features masterworks by composers of the 18th century. Our season finale, “Tell Me a Story,” presents descriptive music meant to tell a story through music.

Here are the levels of adoption:

  • Conductor- $2,000
  • Concert Master- $1,000
  • Chorus master – $1,000
  • Accompanist – $500
  • Principal (first chair ) Player -$500
  • Section member – $250
  • Chorale Singer – $250

“In 1980, the Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra was imagined and came into being by the vision of civic leaders who knew the value that Arts and Music have in creating community and culture.  Though our name changed as we added the Chorale to the Orchestra, The Laredo Philharmonic’s goals and ideals remain intact. Support for this campaign by members of the community, local businesses, and all patrons of the arts will ensure that the next generation will continue to have the opportunity to experience world-class musical events”, said Dr. Joseph Crabtree, Laredo Philharmonic Board President.

Participants in our “Adopt a Musician” campaign receive many benefits, including season tickets, recognition on the Laredo Philharmonic programs and website, and tax benefits for the entire donation amount.

If you have any questions about our Adopt a Musician fundraiser, please email them to laredophilharmonic@gmail.com.
